Conservator
A person appointed by a court to manage the financial affairs and/or personal care of an adult who has been determined to be incapacitated. Some states use 'conservator' for financial management and 'guardian' for personal care.

Practical Example
After a stroke leaves Mr. Johnson unable to manage his finances, the court appoints his son as conservator. His son can now access bank accounts, pay bills, manage investments, and make financial decisions on Mr. Johnson's behalf.
